Stage 1 - Easy Tables:

• 10 times table: Just add a zero (10, 20, 30...)
• 2 times table: Doubling numbers

Stage 2 - Medium Tables:

• 9 times table: Digits add up to 9
• 3 times table: Add 3 each time

About the Year 4 Test:

• Students in Year 4 (ages 8-9) take this test in June each year
• 25 questions total
• 6 seconds per question

9 Times Table Trick:

For 9 × n, the tens digit is (n-1) and the digits add up to 9. Example: 9 × 7 = 63 (6+3=9)

11 Times Table Trick:

For numbers 1-9, just repeat the digit: 11 × 3 = 33, 11 × 7 = 77

Doubling Strategy:

4 times = double twice, 8 times = double three times
