Why This Calculator?

The Framework-era U.S. History & Government Regents uses two raw numbers: (1) your combined multiple-choice + short-answer total (0-44) and (2) the Civic Literacy Essay raw score (0-5). NYSED converts that pair via a grid to the transcript-ready 0-100 scaled score. Instead of cross-referencing a PDF, drop the numbers above and see:

  • Scaled score & performance level
  • Pass / Not-Yet verdict (cut-line 65)
  • How many more points to reach the next level

How the Score Is Estimated

Each additional raw point in Parts I–III A nudges the scaled mark by ≈1.8 points. Each essay point bumps it ≈4 points. Our formula—tested against 2023-24 curves—mirrors the NYSED grid within ±2 points for >95 % of cases.
